  • PK-12 Special Education Teacher

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    May supervise one or more teacher’s aide(s) and/or volunteer(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees/volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.  Encourages student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits.  Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.  Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees policies, and administrative regulations.

    Grade level: PK-5th Grade

    Job description:

    Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
    Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned. Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
    General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to Establish Classroom Climate Conducive to Academic Success
